One of the foundation’s objectives is to award a €1000 grant each year to one small business or budding entrepreneur seeking to establish or expand their venture.
This year, we are awarding a second €500 grant to another small business or budding entrepreneur.

Grant Application Process

Step 1: Check Eligibility
Before applying, please review the eligibility criteria below to determine whether you qualify for the grant.

Step 2: Prepare Your Application
1. Download the Grant Application Document
Click on the following link: Grant Application Document. Download and complete the document as required.
2. (Optional) Prepare a Supplementary Video
You may submit a short video pitching your business. This is optional and will not impact your eligibility.

Step 3: Submit Your Application
Click the “APPLY NOW” button below to access the grant application form. Complete the form and upload the completed Grant Application Document. Applications without the required document will not be considered.

Step 4: Review & Decision
A panel of independent judges will review your submission, including the application document and any supplementary materials. You will receive a decision on your application before the end of July 2025.
Successful applicants will be awarded their grants at the annual Femmy O Foundation Function.

The closing date for applications is Monday 2nd June 2025

  • You must be over 18 to apply for the grant.
  • You must be planning to start a new business or expand an existing small business that is less than 3 years old.
  • Businesses must be operating in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.*
  • Businesses must have capacity for growth.
  • Businesses must have the necessary management or technical skills or be willing to develop this skill.

*If operating in Northern Ireland the winner will receive the amount in pounds equivalent to €1000 or €500, based on the exchange rate.

  • Participate in the annual Femmy O Foundation function, where the grant recipient will be publicly announced.
  • Consent to photography for publication on the Femmy O Foundation website, as well as on its social media channels and other promotional materials.
  • For the first year, provide quarterly progress updates to the Femmy O Foundation board and grant judging panel on the advancements made in your business as a result of the grant.

  • Commit to attending the following year’s foundation function and presenting an update on the current status of your venture.
